During the EOY program last week every 4 year old that will be going to kindergarten next year was recognized for completing Preschool.
Here is Alexis all dressed and waiting for her turn to walk across the stage.
I saw her waiting against the wall and thought to myself that surely they would fix her cap before she started walking. Not a chance!! I thought for sure she would have fallen while walking up the steps.
Here is her teacher pushing down her cap after she received her certificate.
Trying to get the two of them together for a nice photo after the program. It just wasnt going to happen.
Showing off the flowers she got from Grandma:)
And now her certificate. She was so proud of herself. She wouldnt even take her cap and gown off until she got home that night.
As I sat down last Thursday night and looked at the above pictures I couldnt help but remember her first day of school. I really think she had no clue as to what was going on that morning. I got her all dressed up in her new dress and drove to school. As we sat in the drive-thru line at school I wondered how she would do. It was the first time she was going to be away from mom and dad at a place other than Grandmas. Then finally it was our turn. A stranger came and opened her door and took her from her car seat. She immediately started crying. I told her Grandma would be back in a little while to get her and they shut door and I drove off. I was balling my eyes out before I even got out of the parking lot. She cried for about a week or two and then she was fine. And now, three years later, that little girl has closed another door in my life. She will now be a Kindergartener:)
And one final picture to take you back to that September day in 2006:)
